Criminal Mischief, Reckless Driving: East Windsor Police Blotter

The East Windsor Police blotter dated Oct. 17 had the following reports:

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — On Oct. 11, at 2:53 p.m., an officer responded to McKnight School for a report of an individual who was possibly intoxicated. The officer met with the person who showed signs of impairment after operating their motor vehicle. The individual was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. A search of the vehicle yielded an open alcohol container and a burnt marijuana cigarette. The Trenton resident was taken to police headquarters, processed, but refused to comply with breath testing. The 38-year-old was later released pending court action.

On Oct. 12, at 10:53 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 33 West after observing the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction. The driver, a resident of Neptune, NJ was found to have a suspended license and an active warrant out of Deal Borough. The 21-year-old was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, issued traffic summonses, and later released on her own recognizance.

On Oct. 13, at 11:52 a.m., an officer responded to Walmart for a shoplifting that just occurred. On arrival, the officer met with loss prevention personnel and the two individuals suspected of shoplifting. It was determined that the two individuals gathered $177.81 worth of miscellaneous merchandise and exited the store after bypassing all points of sale. The individuals were placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and later released on summonses pending court action.

On Oct. 13, at 12:47 p.m., an officer responded to the area of the Bear Brook Path for a report of an individual destroying a memorial that was set up by a family. On arrival, the officer found the damage and later located the suspect a short distance away. The 32-year-old East Windsor resident was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters, processed, and later released on a summons pending court action.

On Oct. 13 at 2:14 p.m., an officer responded to the area of Princeton Arms North II for a report of an intoxicated person yelling profanities and breaking a laundry room window. On arrival, the officer located the individual who was just involved in a similar incident. The East Windsor resident continued to act belligerent and advised he was assaulted prior to police arrival. The 32-year-old sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. The officer later charged the individual on a complaint summons.

On Oct. 12 at 10:44 p.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Abbington Drive when he saw a vehicle parked in the roadway with its hazard lights on. The officer checked on the driver who showed signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. The driver was transported to police headquarters, processed, and later released pending court action.

On Oct. 15, at 2:57 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on Route 130 South after a registration check revealed the owner had an active warrant out of East Windsor. The officer confirmed the driver was the owner and placed him under arrest. The driver, a resident of Monroe, NJ, was taken to police headquarters, processed, and released after posting bail.
