East Windsor 2024 Election: Sample Ballots, Candidates, Voter Info

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — The 2024 general election is just around the corner. While the presidential matchup between Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, and their third-party/independent challengers continues to draw the most attention, there are elections at the local level as well, including a competitive school board race.

The Mercer County Clerk’s Office has released sample ballots for East Windsor, which you can see here.

KEY DATES

• Election Day: Tuesday, Nov. 5

• Deadline to register to vote: Tuesday, Oct. 15. Check your voter registration here.

• Early voting: Oct. 26-Nov. 3; Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

• Deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot by mail: Tuesday, Oct. 29.

• Deadline for in-person applications for a mail-in ballot: Nov. 4 by 3 p.m.

THE CANDIDATES

Kavitha Madhuri Velagapudi and Christina Lands are vying for a three-year term on the BOE. Robert Laverty and Paula Calia are seeking a one-year term.

Here are some other races that voters in East Windsor will be asked to cast ballots for:

• US SENATOR – Candidates for a U.S. Senate seat who will appear on the ballot in Princeton are Andy Kim (Democrat), Curtis Bashaw (Republican), Kenneth R. Kaplan (Libertarian), Joanne Kuniansky (Socialist Workers Party), Christina Khalil (Green Party) and Patricia G. Mooneyham (Independent).
• US HOUSE (3rd DISTRICT) – Lawrence voters in the 3rd Congressional District will cast ballots for a full two year term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Candidates on the ballot are Herb Conaway (Democrat), Rajesh Mohan (Republican), Douglas Anthony Wynn, Justin Barbera, Steven Welzer (Green Party) and Chris Russomanno (Libertarian).
• MERCER COUNTY COMMISSIONERS – Lawrence voters will get to cast a ballot in the race for Mercer County Commissioners. The Democratic candidates on the ballot Samuel Frisby, Kristin L. McLaughlin and Terrance Stokes. The Republican candidates are Andrew Curcio, Pedro Reyes and Denise Turner.

3 WAYS TO VOTE

There are three ways to vote in the 2024 general election in New Jersey. Here’s what options are available:

Vote By Mail – The last day to apply by mail for a vote-by-mail ballot is Oct. 29. Applications can be downloaded here. Or, you can visit the County Clerk’s office in person at 209 S. Broad St. Trenton during regular business hours, to fill out an application and pick up a ballot. If you are using the U.S. Postal Service, the ballot must be postmarked on or before Nov. 5 and received by the Board of Elections by Nov. 11 to be considered valid and to be counted. If you are using one of the county’s “secure mail drop boxes,” the deadline for delivering your ballot is 8 p.m. on Nov. 5. If you are delivering your ballot in-person, you can deliver your completed ballot to the Board of Elections Office up until 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 . Voters can confirm that their ballot was received here.

Early Voting – Early in-person voting for 2024 general election will take place from Oct. 26 to Nov. 3. Voting hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For a list of early voting locations, click here.
