East Windsor Pedestrian Struck, In Critical Condition: Police
A Trenton resident was charged after he struck an East Windsor man and left the scene, police said.
EAST WINDSOR, NJ — An East Windsor man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a van at the intersection with Hickory Corner Road, police said.
The incident occurred at 4:44 a.m. on Monday. According to the police, Carl J. Ewald, 52 of East Windsor was walking westbound across Route 130 when he was struck by a 2006 Ford Econoline driven by Trenton resident Francisco Merino-Angel, 35, who was traveling south.
Ewald sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton. Police said Merino-Angel left the scene of the crash but was identified later.

Merino-Angel was charged with leaving the scene, failure to report, unsafe vehicle, cracked windshield, leaving the scene of an accident, and endangering an injured victim, police said.
He was processed at East Windsor Police Headquarters and released with a pending court date.

The accident is currently under investigation.
