Kohl’s To Close This NJ Location This Weekend

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — Kohl's will be shuttering 27 underperforming stores this weekend across the country.

Their location at 72 Princeton Hightstown Road, East Windsor, will be officially closing on Saturday, according to the store website.

The closures come as the store struggles to improve profits.

The retailer initially disclosed the store closures in a company announcement this January. The Wisconsin-based company acknowledged that the specific locations slated for closure were underperforming financially.

“While Kohl's continues to believe in the health and strength of its profitable store base, these specific locations were underperforming stores,” the company had said in a statement.

“We always take these decisions very seriously," Tom Kingsbury, Kohl’s chief executive officer, said in a statement.

The company reported that it had informed all affected employees about the changes, offering them either a competitive severance package or the chance to apply for alternative positions within the organization.

Despite these closures, Kohl's will continue to operate more than 1,120 stores nationwide.
