Master Gardeners to Hold Plant and Flower Expo

Tomatoes, veggies and perennials will be in abundance.

The Rutgers Master Gardeners ofΒ MercerΒ CountyΒ will conduct its annual Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at theΒ MercerΒ EducationalΒ Gardens, 431AΒ Federal City Road,Β HopewellΒ Township, adjacent to theΒ MercerΒ CountyΒ EquestrianΒ Center.Β

New this year is a garden market featuring selected top-notch nurseries fromΒ PennsylvaniaΒ andΒ New Jersey. (Go toΒ www.mgofmc.orgΒ for a complete listing.) This is a rare opportunity to meet these vendors and purchase a wide assortment of native plants, woody ornamentals, herbs, annuals, perennials and even a bit of garden whimsy.

Master Gardener homegrown tomatoes, veggies and perennials will, of course, be in abundance. Back by popular demand is a second-hand sale of garden-related items. Once again Mercer County Horticulturist Barbara J. Bromley will be available to answer gardening questions.Β
