Sale of Frontier Airlines Should Not Adversely Impact Mercer County
Indigo Partners is the likely purchaser of the airline, according to reports.

Frontier Airlines’ parent company has agreed to sell the airline as soon as September, but Mercer County officials believe it will remain a benefit to the county, nj.com reports.
Earlier this year, the airline signed a lease to remain at the Trenton-Mercer Airport through 2018.
Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes told nj.com the possible sale of the airline is a sign it is doing well. He said Frontier told him they were happy with the future prospects for the airline at Trenton-Mercer Airport.

Republic Airways Holding announced the possible sale of the airline to an unknown bidder last week, according to the report.
Multiple outlets, including The Denver Post and Bizjournal.com,have reported Indigo Partners is interested in the purchase of the airlines, and The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that group was in “exclusive talks” to purchase the airline, citing a source familiar with the situation.

Republic Airways acquired Frontier in 2009, when Frontier went into bankruptcy, according to nj.com.
