2025 Summer Reading Program Kicks Off At 3 Library Locations In Edison
Special events and prizes are being offered across all library locations.

EDISON, NJ - The Edison Public Library is all ready to begin its 2025 Summer Reading Program, from June 29 through August 31. This inclusive program welcomes both independent readers and those who enjoy being read to, offering incentives, special events, and prizes across all library locations.
"We're thrilled to invite everyone to join us for an unforgettable summer of reading and fun at the library," said Youth Librarian Allia Nisa. This year's theme, "Color Our World," will be celebrated with a special launch event on Saturday.
The kickoff festivities will feature performances by Jim Gaven at three locations:

- Main Library: 10 a.m.
- North Edison temporary location: 12 p.m.
- Clara Barton Branch: 1:00 p.m.
Following the performances, attendees can enjoy rainbow-themed activity stations and a visit from an ice cream truck, creating colorful fun for the entire family.
Participants can log their reading progress through Beanstack and work toward exciting prizes when they reach reading milestones. Prize categories include:

- Adults: Kindle e-readers
- Children: Pokémon card bundles and kids play sets for early learners
- Teens: One-year Spotify subscriptions
The program includes a weekly activity component where patrons can check in with staff at any library branch, including the Bookmobile, to earn small prizes such as library merchandise, Summer Reading Program items, or free book coupons. Participation requires a Beanstack account and enrollment in the appropriate age-specific reading challenge.
Special Events Throughout Summer
The Edison Public Library has scheduled numerous drop-in events for July and August, featuring returning family favorites:
- Rizzo's Wildlife
- Howling Woods Farm
- Lee's Circus Extravaganza
- Eskies Dog Show
- Murphy's Muppets
Adult programming will include "Elvistory" (an Elvis history presentation) and ExhibitSmith, while teens can look forward to jewelry making workshops and Talewise programs.
"Every branch is offering exciting activities and events, from concerts to crafts to magicians. There is something for all ages and interests," Nisa emphasized. "Don't miss out on a summer of fun at the Edison Public Library."
