Following this incident, an investigation by the Metuchen Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office identified Fragoso as the suspect and determined that this was not a random act of violence.
Fragoso was arrested and charged on Dec. 4. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending the results of a pre-trial detention hearing, which has been scheduled for Friday.
Investigation into the incident is active and ongoing, Ciccone said.
