Popular Edison Brewery Announces Closure, Seeks Buyer For Turnkey Operation

The brewery opened on Oct. 24, 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

EDISON, NJ - A popular brewery in Edison will be closing permanently come June.

South 40 Brewing Co., located in Raritan Center, announced on Facebook that they will be closing for good on June 14.

“Sadly, we are permanently closing the brewery on Saturday, June 14th. We’ve been open for nearly five years and have met so many wonderful customers and their pups that made this was a difficult decision,” the brewery said in a statement.

“Please join us for our last few weeks and if you or someone you know is interested in a turnkey brewery business, give us a shout."

The brewery opened on Oct. 24, 2020, at a time when most businesses were struggling to stay afloat due to COVID-19 restrictions.

And within a span of a few months was rated as one of the best breweries in Central Jersey by Bestofnj.com.

Owner and brewer Kevin Pacansky had originally planned to open the brewery in Long Beach Island, but soon realized the Edison location would be better for business, as it was right off the Garden State Parkway.

Outside the taproom, their brews are available at liquor stores in Princeton, Hillboroug, Chatham, Middletown, Woodbridge, Milltown, Monroe and other stores in Long beach Island, according to the company.
