Lunar New Year Festival & Parade An Edison Community Celebration

On Saturday, Feb. 17, a parade and festival will mark the Year of Dragon for 2024.

EDISON, NJ — The Lunar New Year Festival & Parade is Saturday, Feb. 17, celebrating the Year of the Dragon for 2024.

Mayor Sam Joshi and the Edison Council are reminding the community that the event will take place at Papaianni Park, 100 Municipal Blvd., from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

And the special guest this year is Eugenia Zhang, Miss Connecticut Earth 2023 and Miss Earth USA 2023 Top Ten.

The Feb. 17 event will include the parade, a lion dance and cultural performances, as well as a play area for children and many other extras.

Not only in China but around the world celebrations will mark the start of the Lunar New Year this coming weekend. In 2024, Lunar New Year falls on Feb. 10. The start of the holiday coincides with the date of the new moon, according to Earth Sky.
