Joshi Leads Mayoral Race; Kentos, Dima, Patel Ahead: Unofficial Edison 2025 Primary Result

EDISON, NJ - With all districts reporting, incumbent Samip Joshi is in the lead to clinch his party’s nomination for Mayor candidate in the Democratic Primary Election in Edison.
Joshi clinched 67.50 percent of the vote, with Lav Patel getting 17.10 percent and Richard Brescher getting 15.23 percent of the vote.

In the Council race, Robert J. Kentos, Kelli Dima, and Biral Patel are in the lead for the Dem party nomination, with 5,320, 5,311 and 5,255 votes respectively.
Seven candidates are vying for the party nomination in the council race.

The Republicans had an uncontested primary race.
As of 11 p.m., here’s the unofficial vote tally according to Middlesex County:
MAYOR
- Lav Patel – 1,662 (17.10%)
- Richard Brescher - 1,480 (15.23%)
- Samip Joshi - 6,559 (67.50%)
COUNCIL
- Kelli Dima – 5,311 (21.48%)
- Biral Patel – 5,255 (21.25%)
- Robert J. Kentos – 5,320 (21.51%)
- Jayesh Mehta – 2,364 (9.56%)
- Yingnan "Ingrid" Chen - 2,394 (9.68%)
- Anthony DeAmorin - 2,221 (8.98%)
- Joyce Ship-Freeman - 1,830 (7.40%)
The winner of the Mayoral race will face the Republican candidate, Gloria Dittman, in November. And the winners of the council race will face the three Republican challengers — Russell J. Azzarello, Kartik Nath, Samiksha Sharmas.
The official results fot he 2025 primary election will be certified by the County Board of Canvassers on or before June 20.
