Joshi Pursues Jobs, Investment For Edison Through India Economic Mission
The Mayor met with high-ranking government officials from India to discuss economic collaboration.
EDISON, NJ – Edison Mayor Sam Joshi recently returned from the Choose New Jersey Governor-led Economic Mission to India. There, he worked on attracting new employment opportunities and economic investment to Edison, his office said.
During the mission, Joshi and the New Jersey delegation met with more than 250 company executives—from innovative startups to multibillion-dollar corporations—interested in expanding operations to New Jersey.
The companies represented key industries including biopharma, life sciences, biomanufacturing, telecommunications, film, artificial intelligence, and deep tech.

Joshi met with high-ranking government officials, including the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Telangana, and Kerala, along with U.S. Embassy representatives and GM Swami from BAPS, to discuss economic collaboration, his office said.
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority and Governor Murphy presented competitive incentives to encourage investment in the state.

In the film industry, Mayor Joshi held discussions with the CEO of Eros Entertainment, the Founder of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), and multiple producers about opportunities to bring film production jobs to Edison.
Higher education leaders—including the presidents of Montclair State University, Kean University, and NJIT, along with the Chair of Rutgers University—also participated in the mission, exploring opportunities to strengthen academic partnerships.
Joshi also engaged with existing New Jersey-based companies, including TCS Tata Consulting Services, which employs 3,700 people in Edison's Alfieri Building, reinforcing the Township's role as a hub for innovation and global business.
"We are on the cusp of significant change across these industries, and it is vital for us to stay at the forefront," Joshi said in a statement.
"I am committed to ensuring Edison benefits directly from these global partnerships by bringing new jobs, investment, and economic growth to our community."
Over the next year, Joshi will continue working with companies, universities, and state officials to deliver job creation and economic opportunities to Edison residents.
