Spring and Summer Recreation Programs Announced In Edison
Yoga, art classes, basketball drills and more - the Edison Recreation Department has a host of events planned for spring and summer.
EDISON, NJ — If you're looking for spring and summer programs in Edison, the Recreation Department has got you covered. The Edison Recreation Department recently announced a number of programs for adults, teens, and children for the next few months.
These programs include yoga, art classes, recreation, and more.
“One of the greatest resources our township has to offer is the amazing programming provided for our residents throughout the year,” Mayor Sam Joshi said. “If you or a member of your family are looking for great things to do this Spring and Summer, look no further than the Recreation Department for exciting activities.”

Here are the dates, times, costs, and eligibility requirements for upcoming programs:
Adult Yoga: Beginning April 2 through June 25, this free, virtual class meets Saturday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. via Zoom. Students will learn simplified kundalini yoga, holistic health, as well as simple exercises, asanas, and meditation. The cost is $50 for residents and non-residents. Classes are free for Edison residents over the age of 65. Proof of age and residency is required.

Adult Recreation: Badminton, ping pong, chess, line dancing, pickleball, tai chi, volleyball and more - adult recreation classes began this Monday. Classes are held at the Minnie B Veal Community Center and Thomas Jefferson Middle School. The cost is $30 for residents, $60 for non-residents, and free for Edison residents 65 years and older.
Teen Recreation: Classes began Monday and include chess, basketball drills and skills, design class, open-play volleyball, and open-court basketball. Classes are held at the Minnie B Veal Community Center and Thomas Jefferson Middle School. The cost is $10 for residents and $20 for non-residents.
Adult Spring Yoga: On through June 13, the adult yoga class takes place at Lincoln Elementary School on Mondays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Virtual classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Edison residents pay $50, non-residents $100, and residents 65 years and older pay nothing.
Adult Spring Aerobics: Tuesdays/Fridays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., attend the adult aerobics classes at Lincoln Elementary School and Minnie B Veal Community Center, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., The cost is $50 for residents, $100 for non-residents, and free for seniors.
Adult Spring Watercolor Classes: Through June 30, learn to watercolor at Thomas Jefferson Middle School on Tuesdays and at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center on Thursdays.
Adult Spring Ceramics/Arts & Crafts: From April 5 through May 24, classes at the Minnie B. Veal Community Center on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. $20 for residents, $40 for non-residents, and free for residents 65 years and older.
Virtual Yoga For Kids: Through June 14, kids ages 6 to 13 can participate in yoga classes on Zoom. Timings are 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays.
