The arrest came after the man's alleged victim, now 16, told her mother she had been assaulted when she was 12.

A Bergen County man was arrested after authorities say he allegedly engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with a minor.
Jose A. Acosta, 31, of Lodi, was arrested on Jan. 8 when his alleged victim, now 16, told her mother Acosta had engaged in inappropriate sexual activity when she was 12-years-old, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.
Arrangements were made for the victim to be interviewed by a detective from the Special Victims Unit at the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office in Paramus, where the victim provided specific details regarding what had occurred with Acosta, Molinelli said.
