Police: Englewood Man Pulls Knife During Dog Poop Dispute
Second time since Thursday man accused in violent fights over his dogs, police say.

A little more than 48 hours after making bail on charges he stabbed a neighbor over unleashed dogs, a convicted felon from Englewood is again accused of pulling a knife in a dispute sparked by the pooches, city police said Tuesday.
Larry Dungey, 53, was free on bail after the first incident when a roommate called police Monday night to report the two had fought over dog feces in their Shepard Avenue home, authorities said. Dungey allegedly pulled a knife and menaced the man before taking off.
“I really can’t remember someone getting arrested twice, within days of each other, over dogs, and both times involving an assault with a knife," Englewood Detective Captain Tim Torell said in an e-mail. "This is one for the books.”

City detectives issued warrants for Dungey on a slew of charges and captured him when he returned home around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Torell said.
Tuesday's arrest is the second time in four days the convicted burglar has been charged in violent confrontations over his dogs, police said.

In the first knife attack on March 28, a neighbor from another apartment in the building confronted Dungey after his unleashed dogs jumped on the 22-year-old man, according to police.
Dungey slashed the man and fought with the victim's friend, police said. Two Teaneck detectives subdued Dungey before Englewood officers made the arrest.
Dungey faces charges of domestic violence assault by menace, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon in the latest case.
Bail was set at an additional $26,500, on top of the $55,000 from his first arrest.
