Englewood Swears in Firefighter

Robert Chase, a former dispatcher, was sworn in as a probationary firefighter Wednesday night.

With the department and family members on hand, Robert Chase was officially sworn in as a probationary firefighter Wednesday night.

Although he may be new to the fire department, Chase is not an unfamiliar face in Englewood. He's worked as a dispatcher for the last three years.

"Bobby has been one of the best and most patient employees that we've had," said Fire Chief Gerald Marion. "I think the residents of Englewood and Bergen County will be extremely lucky."

Audience members and firefighters cheered loudly as Chase's wife, Erica, pinned Badge #92 to his uniform.

"The officers and firefighters of the Englewood Fire Department are pleased to welcome you as our brother," said Marion.
