Englewood Presents 2016 Business Apprenticeship Program
The program pairs junior and senior high school students with experienced business mentors from the community.

The City of Englewood's Business Apprenticeship Program pairs junior and senior high school students of with experienced business mentors from the community. Selected students receive hands-on experience, professional training, support and a $1,000 stipend. Students must be Englewood residents and in good academic standing in order to be considered eligible for application. The program extends from Tuesday, July 5 to Friday, Aug. 12 with a daily work schedule determined by the applicant's assigned supervisor.
The apprentice commits to work 25 weekly hours with the exception of Independence Day. Missed days must be made up to complete the required hours. Apprentices are required to attend all workplace readiness workshops (Wednesdays, May 4 through June 8 from 2:50-3:30 p.m. in the Dwight Morrow High School north library) as well as the closing ceremony and reception, scheduled to take place Aug. 12 at noon. An independent Apprenticeship Selection Committee comprising business and nonprofit leaders will review each application, conduct interviews and select apprentices. Interviews will take place during the week of Monday, April 4. Accepted applicants will be notified on Friday, April 8 with a letter. Apprentices must have access to transportation to and from work, workshop and other required destinations.

The deadline for submitting a completed application form is Friday, March 11. Applications can be found at Dwight Morrow High School and the city clerk's office as well as through the City of Englewood and the Englewood Economic Development Corporation Facebook.
