Englewood to Hold 'Town Hall' on Sandy Response

Emergency management director, PSE&G official to make presentations at special city council meeting Wednesday.

Englewood emergency management and utility company representatives will make presentations at a special city council meeting Wednesday to address the response to Hurricane Sandy.

The special meeting will include a "town hall discussion" on the storm, and review planning for future emergencies, according to a meeting agenda.

City Emergency Management Director Deputy Police Chief Lawrence Suffern and David Hollenbeck, a PSE&G government affairs official, will present at the meeting.

Residents will be able to share their views on the storm and response.

Mayor Frank Huttle is also expected to lift the State of Emergency he declared in the city as the massive storm hit.

Sandy caused widespread power outages around the region. PSE&G has been criticized for leaving some customers in the dark for more than a week following the storm.

The company said Sunday power had been restored to 99 percent of the 1.7 million customers impacted by Sandy.
