Exhibit to Feature Art by Englewood Elementary School Student

City teacher will also be recognized for her "innovative" lesson planning.

Artwork by a second grade student at Englewood's Dr. John Grieco Elementary School will be displayed at a juried art show for young people next month, the school district announced.

Camila Quinchia's art was selected from thousands of entries to appear the College of New Jersey Art Gallery, according to a district press release.

"A metal foil, embossed piece that encompassed line designs and metallic watercolor accents, it demonstrated creativity and strong concept design," the release said of Quinchia's work.

Her teacher, Alicia Kays, will also be honored at the event for her lesson plans.

“This exemplary and innovative student creation told a story and pushed the boundaries of the visual arts. We are extremely proud of Camila,” said Kays, Grieco School art educator.

The exhibition will open June 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. at TCNJ. The work will be on review Wednesdays and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m. through June 23.
