Months After Opening, Red Parrot Appears Closed

"For Rent" sign posted on storefront.

Englewood’s Red Parrot Bistro has apparently closed after opening on East Palisade Avenue in June.

The eatery has been shuttered for several days and a “for rent’ sign is posted outside. Representatives at the restaurant and real estate firm could not be reached to comment Monday.

Red Parrot was owned by Gary Rockman, who also owned the Muscle Maker Grill formerly at the site. He started the bistro after he split ways with a former business partner. His new eatery featured a CIA-trained chef and a seasonal menu.

“I didn’t want to give up on Englewood. I like the location,” Rockman told Patch in an interview last month. “It’s a big mixture of ethnicities, culture, and it’s close to New York. And I didn’t want to lose the investment.”
