Violent Crime Decreases in Englewood
Englewood saw fewer violent crimes in the first half of 2014 compared to the first half of 2013.

New Jersey State Police have released their Uniform Crime Report for the first two quarters of 2014. According to their reports, Englewood’s overall crime index rose from 358 to 369 in the last year, a 3 percent increase.
However Englewood saw a 41 percent decrease in violent crime. Englewood police reported 65 violent crimes between January and June of 2013, and only 38 such incidents in the same period of 2014.
Teaneck Police reported 196 nonviolent crimes in the first half of both 2013, and 226 such crimes in the same period of 2014, a 15 percent increase.
