$11K Stolen From Gas Station, 2 Co-Conspirators Charged: Fair Lawn PD

An alleged conspiracy to steal from a Fair Lawn gas station resulted in charges for two people, one of whom was an employee, police said.

FAIR LAWN, NJ — Suspects in an alleged orchestrated theft at a gas station in late November were charged Thursday after one was pulled over for traffic violations, Fair Lawn police officials said.

Iver Vera-Miranda, an employee at Fuel 4, had allegedly worked with Christopher Broere, to steal more than $11,000 in cash from a safe inside the Fair Lawn service station. He had, according to reports at the time, "forgot to set the alarm" when he left for the night, and when he returned, found an office door and safe inside to be opened without force, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

Christopher Broere, 33, of Fair Lawn, was then able to get inside and grab the money. He was charged with burglary Thursday, after a Fair Lawn officer pulled him over for driving violations and arrested him on an unrelated warrant, Metzler said.
