Baseball Squad Drops County Tournament Opener

The Fair Lawn High School baseball team lost 5-3 to River Dell Friday in the first round of the Bergen County Tournament.

Fair Lawn dropped its twice rain-delayed first-round Bergen County Tournament matchup against River Dell, 5-3, on Friday.

The No. 23 Cutters (11-5) were making their first appearance in the tournament since 2006.

Junior Adam Hebel, Fair Lawn's most consistent pitcher this year, took the mound against senior River Dell hurler, Ryan Duran.

With the game tied 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth, River Dell punched in two runs to pull out the win, according to NorthJersey.com
