Bergen Man Caught With 'Magic Mushrooms', Other Drugs: Prosecutor

The Fair Lawn man had just made a drug transaction with someone at a "known stash house" prior to his arrest, according to records.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A local man was found carrying large quantities of illegal drugs through Bergen County, according to authorities.

Erik Cruz, 40, of Fair Lawn, was caught in Saddle Brook with 20 pounds of weed, about one-half pound of psilocybin "magic" mushrooms, and about 25 pounds of hashish just over a week ago, authorities said.

Cruz had just made a drug transaction with someone at a "known stash house" prior to his arrest, as stated in a police affidavit.

He was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute the drugs, and was released on his own recognizance pending an initial court appearance, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
