Council Holding Closed Session Vote on Self Storage Plan

Fair Lawn is objecting to the plan to build a self storage facility on Midland Avenue in Saddle Brook.

The Fair Lawn Council is scheduled to vote on a resolution regarding a developer's application to build a self storage facility in Saddle Brook during a closed session meeting Tuesday night.

Borough attorney Ronald Mondello said last week that Bruce Rosenberg, the Fair Lawn Zoning Board attorney handling the borough's objection to the self storage application, wanted council to discuss the issue in closed, not public session. The meeting's agenda cites attorney-client privilege.

The council had agreed to send Rosenberg to object to the application after residents who live near the site of the proposed self storage facility raised concerns that it could worsen flooding in their neighborhood

During the last Saddle Brook Zoning Board hearing for the plan, Rosenberg raised an issue with the application over the use of a driveway and storage tanks on the property, which may currently be utilized by the business on a neighboring lot.

The board is scheduled to either continue or restart the hearing at a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. October 22 in the Saddle Brook Senior Center on Caldwell Avenue.

The Fair Lawn Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the municipal building. The agenda is available here.
