Dad Left Crying Baby In Car Parked In Lot With The Windows Down, NJ Police Say
Someone found a crying baby in a parked car in one Bergen County town on Mother's Day, and called police, they said.

ROCHELLE PARK, NJ — A 46-year-old Englewood man has been charged with child neglect after he left his baby in a parked car in Rochelle Park on Sunday, authorities said.
Jamal Martin was issued a complaint summons for child neglect on Sunday and released to await a court date, said Rochelle Park police.
Police said that around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday they received a call from a pedestrian who reported hearing a baby's cries coming from a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder parked in a Rochelle Avenue parking lot.

The vehicle was parked, the windows were open, and a 6-month-old boy was strapped into a rear-facing car seat, police said.
Emergency medical technicians came to evaluate the child.

Police said that Martin returned to the car 17 minutes after police arrived.
The baby was taken to a local emergency room as a precaution. The Division of Child Protection and Permanency was called and met the family at the hospital, police said.
