District 38 Dems to Open Bergenfield District Office

Next Tuesday, local officials and residents from across District 38 are invited to Bergenfield as Senator Bob Gordon, Assemblywoman Connie Wagner and Assemblyman Tim Eustace host an open house on July 10 from 6 to 8pm and celebrate the opening of their new constituent service office at 35 South Washington Street.

“We are very excited to open our new office in downtown Bergenfield and get to know our neighbors a bit better,” Senator Gordon (D-Fair Lawn) said in a statement. “This new office will provide constituents of the 38^th district more office location options and greater access to both their legislators and the constituent services our offices provide.”

The joint office will serve as an additional service center to constituents. Currently, Senator Gordon operates mainly out of Fair Lawn, while Assembly members Wagner and Eustace share an office in Paramus. The legislators believe that combining resources in order to extend their services to one of the towns recently incorporated into the 38^th district will help them maximize their outreach to the community while keeping costs to the state low.

“As legislators, we felt it was very important to provide a more convenient office location for the eastern portion of our district,” Assemblywoman Wagner (D-Paramus) said. “This new office is located in the heart of Bergenfield’s business district and a short ride from surrounding communities like New Milford and River Edge. We are confident this will provide easier access, particularly for those residents who have limited means of transportation.”

Constituents visiting the new legislative office will be provided with assistance on several fronts. Staff members on-site will, among other things, process notary applications, respond to legislative inquiries, act as a liaison to help solve issues with local, county, and state governments and agencies, and help cut through government red tape. Local residents are also encouraged to visit the office to become better acquainted with their Senator and Assembly members, as well as their staffs.

“We are also happy to provide evening hours at the Bergenfield office. Wednesday’s office hours extend to 7 p.m., providing more flexibility to working individuals and families,” Assemblyman Eustace (D-Maywood) said.

The Bergenfield constituent service office will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. There is no need to call for an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome.

The official office opening will be marked by an “open house” on Tuesday, July 10 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Local members of the community are invited to attend.
