Fair Lawn police received some help from an unlikely source.
FAIR LAWN, NJ – Fair Lawn police received some help from an unlikely source Wednesday evening when a dog led them to the home of a man struck by a car so his family could be informed.
Around 6:33 p.m., a 64-year-old Fair Lawn man out walking his dog was struck by a car while trying to cross Berdan Avenue in the crosswalk, according to Sgt. Brian Metzler.
At the time, the man was not carrying any identification, but his dog, an American bulldog named Mr. Winkles, knew exactly what to do, Metzler said.
