Electronic Speed Boards Posted Around Saddle Brook
The boards were erected after police received complaints from residents about motorists speeding.

SADDLE BROOK, NJ — Several electronic speed boards have been put up around town.
The boards were erected after officials have received several complaints about motorists driving excessively fast. Mayor Robert White and the Borough Council originated the idea of putting them up.
The boards were placed in all school zones and areas where police received excessive speeding complaints from residents.

The boards display a motorist's speed in green numbers and "thank you" if the speed is at or above the limit. The numbers switch to red and "slow down" appears if the speed is above the limit.
"These speed boards give motorists a clear and convincing message that they’re either driving safely and within the lawful speed limit or they are obviously doing in excess of the speed limits," said Police Chief Robert Kugler. "It is a great tool for motorists to 'monitor and police themselves' before the police formally do."
