FAIR LAWN, NJ — A fire engulfed and destroyed a car Friday afternoon in Fair Lawn, and a second alarm was called to put out the flames, which were impinging on a nearby home, the fire department's public information officer Doug Sadowski said.

The fire caused only minor damage to the adjoining house on Bergen Avenue, as most of the blaze was concentrated to the car, Sadowski said.

Other local departments were called in for mutual aid "out of an abundance of caution," officials said.
