Dunk Tank, Free Food, And More: National Night Out Activities Planned For Saddle Brook

SADDLE BROOK, NJ — Each year, residents across America sit on their porches or attend local community fairs to stand up against crime and get to know their local police.

Several Bergen County towns host National Night Out activities during the first Tuesday in August each year, sometimes with a rain date.

In Saddle Brook, police are planning a dunk tank, live music, free food (pizza, cotton candy, popcorn and more) and other highlights.

They invited the public to take part in the event, meant to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.

The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said that this year, they'll have representatives at the Night Out in the towns below, including Saddle Brook:

• Saddle Brook: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Municipal Complex (55 Mayhill St.)
• Cliffside Park: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grantwood Park (School #6)
• Fairview: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Columbus Park (6th St. & Roosevelt St.)
• Garfield: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Century Field (60 Elizabeth Street)
• Hackensack: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Atlantic Street Park (Main St., Atlantic St.)
• Harrington Park: 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hoelsher Field (Across from 150 Tappan Rd.)
• New Milford: 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Kennedy Field (930 River Road)
• Paramus: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Public Library (116 East Century Road)
• Rochelle Park: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Midland School (300 Rochelle Ave.)
• Rutherford: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Lincoln Park (Park Ave.)

The prosecutor's office noted, "National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnership and rapport to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Many Bergen County towns offered family friendly activities, food, and informational giveaways."

“We view National Night Out as a valuable opportunity to engage with local residents and share important crime prevention and safety messages,” said Prosecutor Mark Musella. “This annual event provides a chance for residents to interact with their neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.”
