BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An ice cream truck burst into flames during a chain-reaction crash on the New Jersey Turnpike late on Tuesday afternoon, state police said.
State troopers responded to the crash just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on the western spur of the Turnpike in East Rutherford, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
Lebron said Wednesday that based on a preliminary investigation, a tractor-trailer was traveling north when it struck a construction barrier on the right, veered left, and hit a Volvo bobtail in the center lane.
