Fair Lawn Indoor Percussion, Color Guard Take First at Home Competition

More than 20 bands from across the state performed at Fair Lawn High School on March 23 for an indoor winter guard and percussion competition.

Fair Lawn High School's Indoor Percussion and Color Guard ensembles wowed an enthusiastic home crowd on March 23, taking first place honors at one of the year's key indoor competitions.

Both ensembles took first in their groups in a field of more than 20 units from across the tri-state area. The Indoor Percussion unit additionally received caption awards for best performance, best effect and best ensemble, while the Indoor Guard earned caption awards for best movement and best ensemble.

The Color Guard went on to earn second place honors and caption awards for best movement and best equipment at the USBands Indoor Championships in Flemington on April 6.

The March 23 home competition, which featured a record 21 bands, marked the third consecutive year in which the high school hosted as USBands indoor show.
