Machetes And Drugs Found During Search Of Bergen County Home: Police
A Fair lawn man was arrested Friday after machetes and "indicators" of drug distribution were found in a home, police said.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — Police who searched a home in Fair Lawn on Friday as part of an assault investigation found two machetes, drugs, and "numerous indicators of drug distribution and manufacturing," said police Wednesday.
Antonio L. Rodriguez, 22, of Fair Lawn, was charged with simple assault, weapons possession, and various drug charges, said Sgt. Eric Eleshewich.
Police said they were investigating a two-week-old assault when they obtained a search warrant for a residence on Pellington Drive.

When they searched on Friday evening, they found the machetes, as well as 17 pounds of marijuana, 923 Xanax pills, 1.65 oz. of psychedelic mushrooms, and 2.5 pounds of liquid THC, Eleshewich said.
Rodriguez was charged with simple assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, terroristic threats, distribution of marijuana over 5 lbs., distribution of narcotics within 500 feet of a public park, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, Eleshewich said.

Rodriguez was taken to the Bergen County Jail, police said.
