Men Had 9mm Gun, Nunchucks, Baggies Of Crack In Parked Car: Fair Lawn Police
Two men were caught in a car with a 9mm gun, nunchucks, crack cocaine, and other illegal items, said Fair Lawn police.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — Police who searched a parked car in Fair Lawn in the middle of the night found a gun, nunchucks, crack cocaine, and other illicit items, they said.
Police said that on July 18, around 1:25 a.m., Officer Matthew Hearon noticed a parked white Acura in the parking lot of Advanced Auto, 18-37 River Road.
He saw two men inside "moving around and reaching under the seats," police said.

When Hearon parked behind the vehicle, both men got out, police said.
Both Shaun P. Reed, 44, of Pompton Lakes, and the passenger, Michael P. Durant, 40 of Paterson were arrested, police said.

A search turned up a Springfield Armory XD 9 9 mm handgun, a high capacity magazine, 15 hollow point bullets, a set of nunchucks, six crack pipes, and two baggies of crack cocaine, police said.
Reed was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point bullets, possession of a high capacity magazine, possession of a weapon (nunchucks), and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and taken to the Bergen County Jail.
Durant was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and turned over to the Paterson Police Department because they had an active arrest warrant for him.
"The handgun will be sent for testing to see if it can be ballistically matched to other incidents," police noted.
