Paterson Teen Stole Package From Fair Lawn Porch: Cops
A 3rd Street resident contacted authorities after seeing the theft via his home's Ring doorbell system.
FAIR LAWN, NJ – A teenage boy from Paterson was taken into police custody after authorities said he swiped a package delivered to a home in Fair Lawn.
On Sept. 7, officers Stephen Buskiewicz, Michael O’Brien and Robert Manning responded to a 3rd Street home after a resident reported that he saw a male steal a package from his front steps through his Ring video doorbell, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
Officers tracked down two 14-year-old boys riding their bicycles on 4th Street and detained the pair after the stolen package was found, he said.

Both teens were handed over to their parents, Metzler said.
The boy who took the package will be charged with theft of movable property in family court, according to the sergeant.
