"PRPD was alerted to two horses running at large on Brae Blvd." the police said in a statement on Tuesday. "Officers Stowe, Davies, and Sgt. Puglis with the assistance of Montvale PD and a helpful hotel guest were able to wrangle the two animals and return them to their owner without injury. As always, thank you to our partners at @montvalepd."

"You Park Ridge police are always horsing around," noted a man.

One commenter asked whether the police practiced with lassos.

"The escapees couldn't speak about it, they were horse," chimed in another wag.

A commenter said that the horses had escaped from a fence while the owner was away, and others said it had happened a few years earlier as well.
