Police believe the burglar targeted the home in order to steal the pup.

SADDLE BROOK, NJ – Police say they are searching for a puppy stolen during a burglary at a Saddle Brook home.
According to Saddle Brook Police Chief Robert Kugler, a young female pit bull puppy named Blaire was taken from a home on the south side of town near Route 46 during a break-in on Monday.
Police received a call from the homeowner who reported Blaire was taken from her cage by someone who had forcibly entered a basement door to get into the house sometime between the morning hours and 3 p.m., Kugler said.

“Nothing else was reportedly taken from the home and it would appear the puppy was targeted. Our hope is that the release of this adorable picture will lead the general public to be on the lookout for possible sightings and which would provide information leading to the return of the puppy to its owner,” Kugler said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saddle Brook Police Department at (201) 843-7000.
