School Musicals, Benefit Walks, Street Fair in Week Ahead

  1. Monday marks the beginning of second day garbage pickup for the summer in Fair Lawn.
  • Tuesday, June 4
    1. The Primary Election will run from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all local polling stations.
    2. Free health consultations will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Fair Lawn Municipal Building.
    3. Lyncrest School will be performing its spring musical at 7 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center.

    1. A child health clinic will be offered at 9:30 a.m. in Room B-5 of the Fair Lawn municipal building. Appointments are necessary. Call (201)-794-5331.
    2. The Fair Lawn Board of Education will hold a special action meeting at 7 p.m. in Edison School Room 19 for the hiring of certificated staff.
    3. Radburn School will be performing its spring musical at 7 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center.
    4. Mayor John Cosgrove will speak at the League of Women Voters of Fair Lawn's annual dinner meeting at the Paramus Library, 116 E. Century Road, at 7:30 p.m.

    1. Dance A Lot Ballroom Studio at 7:30 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center. The performance features both traditional and specially choreographed ballroom dances performed by dancers of all ages and levels.     2. The Radburn Players' “Open Mic Night” will be held at 8 p.m. at the Radburn Association Grange Hall, located at 29-20 Fair Lawn Avenue.  The competition can include a five-minute dramatic reading or monologue, a stand-up comedy routine or musical performance. The evening includes a buffet of food and drink. Admission is free.
    • Sunday, June 9
    1. The Fair Lawn Green Team is sponsoring a 3K Benefit Walk at 9 a.m. at Memorial Park. To register or for more information, please call 201-794-5314. The cost to register is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Children under 14 walk for free. All proceeds go to the Fair Lawn Human Services trust fund.
    2. The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter will host the Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser at 10:30 a.m. in Saddle River County Park in Saddle Brook. There will be family friendly activities like face painting, live music, mascots, refreshments and games before and after the walk.     3. The Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce will hold its 15th Annual Street Fair in the Radburn Business District from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  
    4. The Children's Foundation for the Arts Ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center.
    5. Garretson Farm is holding an herbal soapmaking workshop from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tour the Garretson herb garden and craft your own soap with organic, farm-grown herbs and pure essential oils. Cost is $25.
    6. The North Jersey Symphony Orchestra is performing its the last concert of the season at Thomas Jefferson Middle School at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15.
