P.O. Anthony Ferreira & P.O. Brad Pindyck responded to Shoprite, 17-17 River Road, and arrested a 22-year-old man from Fair Lawn after he was detained by store loss prevention with $14.55 in unpaid items. He was released after being charged with shoplifting.

P.O. Brad Pindyck initiated a motor vehicle stop on Maple Avenue at Harristown Road and arrested the operator, a 28-year-old from Waterbury, CT, and the passenger, a 54-year-old man from Waterbury, CT, after marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle. Both were released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

P.O. Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Plaza Road and arrested the operator, a 31-year-old from Cambria Heights, NY, after marijuana was located inside the vehicle. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance & operating with a suspended license.

02/29/2020 1:02 a.m. Shoplifting

P.O. Anthony Ferreira, P.O. Michael Van Ness, P.O. Robert Iozzia & P.O. Geovanny Buitron responded to the area of CVS Pharmacy, 24-20 Fair Lawn Avenue, after 3 shoplifting suspects left the store with unpaid items. A 26-year-old Fair Lawn man, 59-year-old New York man and 35-year-old Brooklyn man were located nearby and arrested when $381.07 in unpaid items were discovered. All were released after being charged with shoplifting.

P.O. Tiller Uriarte approached an occupied parked vehicle on Oak Street at Central Avenue and arrested the operator, a 29-year-old man from Coal Township, PA, and the passenger, a 22-year-old from Martinez, GA, after marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle. Both were released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

03/01/2020 9:40 a.m. Weapons

P.O. Miguel Cruz & P.O. Stephen Buskiewicz approached an occupied parked vehicle on Warren Road and arrested the operator, a 31-year-old from Pennsylvania, after a charged syringe and a stiletto knife were discovered inside the vehicle. The passenger, a 41-year-old man from Perth Amboy, was also arrested after a crack pipe was found in his clothing. The driver was released after being charged with possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia & prohibited weapons. The passenger was released after being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

P.O. Justin DiGuglielmo initiated a motor vehicle stop on Maple Avenue at Hemlock Avenue and arrested a 30-year-old man from Oakland after heroin was located inside his vehicle. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to wear a seatbelt & failure to possess a license.

P.O. Tiller Uriarte approached 2 suspicious people in the parking lot 6-18 Maple
Avenue and arrested a 25-year-old man from Astoria, NY, after marijuana was discovered in his pocket. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
