Special Senate Election Voter Registration Deadline is Tuesday
The seat opened after Sen. Frank Lautenberg died last month.

After Sen. Frank Lautenberg died last month, Gov. Chris Christie set August 13 as the special primary election and October 16 as the special general election.
Democrats Cory Booker, Rush Holt, Sheila Y. Oliver and Frank Pallone Jr. and Republicans Alieta Eck and Steven M. Lonegan are all seeking the seat. State Attorney General Steven Chiesa, who was appointed to fill the seat temporarily, is not seeking to keep it.
