Sunflowers & Smiles Light Up Saddle Brook Library

Artist Ovi Paulter brings community together for a colorful evening of creativity and connection.

Fifteen residents picked up brushes and painted golden blooms last night at the Saddle Brook Library during a free workshop led by Ovi Paulter, founder of Floral Sessions with Ovi.

The evening’s theme — sunflowers — brought bursts of color, creativity, and conversation. “It’s about more than painting,” Paulter said. “It’s about giving people a space to relax, connect, and discover what’s possible when they create. Samina Majeed and the entire library staff were so welcoming and made it so easy for me to teach — it truly set the tone for a beautiful night.”

Paulter’s nonprofit partners with libraries across Bergen County to make art accessible to all, providing supplies, instruction, and encouragement at no cost. Each participant left with a sunflower masterpiece and the joy of a shared creative experience.
