Week Ahead: Arts Festival, Schools Budget Adoption, FLHS Musical

Take a look at what's happening this week in Fair Lawn-Saddle Brook.

  • Monday, March 18 -- 
  1. The Saddle Brook Board of Education will hold a special executive session meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the High School/Middle School to meet with its superintendent search consultants and conduct interviews with superintendent candidates.
  • Tuesday, March 19 -- 
  1. The annual Fair Lawn Public School Arts Festival will hold its opening reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center.
  2. The Saddle Brook Township planning board has a meeting at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
  3. Fair Lawn council has a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Hall Council Chambers. Police officers Lt. Bob Kneer, Sgt. James Corcoran and Detective Timothy O'Shaughnessy will be promoted at the meeting. Click here for agenda.
  • Wednesday, March 20 - 
  1. The Saddle Brook Board of Education will hold a special executive session meeting at 7 p.m. at the High School/Middle School to meet with its superintendent search consultants and conduct interviews with superintendent candidates.
  2. Fair Lawn Public Schools student art will be on display at the Community Center as part of the annual Arts Festival.
  • Thursday, March 21 
  1. Fair Lawn Rescue Squad has a fundraiser scheduled at Bourbon BBQ, located at 529 Goffle Road in Wyckoff. Mike and Helen Feygin, the owners of Bourbon BBQ and long time residents of Fair Lawn, will be contributing a portion of sales before taxes and gratuity to the Rescue Squad. The flyer attached must be presented at the time of purchase. The eatery is open from 11:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. for dining in or take-out. 
  2. Giovanni's Deli on Morlot Avenue will hold a fundraiser dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Proceeds raised are put toward scholarships for Fair Lawn High School students interested in pursuing a career in the culinary arts.
  3. Forrest Elementary is holding a Tricky Tray at the school's multipurpose room starting at 6 p.m with calling beginning at 7:30 pm.  Admission is $10 and Value Ticket Packet is $25 or you can get both Value Pack plus Admission for $30.00.
  4. The Fair Lawn Board of Education will convene at 7 p.m. at Edison School Room 19 to adopt the budget. A regular meeting will follow at 7:30 p.m.
  5. The Center for Modern Dance Education is holding its Spring Cameo Concert at 7 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids, seniors and special needs individuals.
  6. Fair Lawn High School directed by John Giresi, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are between $10 and $20, depending on the section.

  • Friday, March 22 
  1. Fair Lawn High School  directed by John Giresi, at 8 p.m. Tickets are between $10 and $20, depending on the section. 
  • Saturday, March 23 -  
  1. Fair Lawn High School hosts an indoor percussion and color guard competition at 11:45 a.m. 21 bands from throughout the state have signed up to participate.
  2. Warren Point Presbyterian Church is holding a Fish & Chips Dinner at 6:30 p.m. The food is being provided by Tastefully British. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children under 13. Contact the church office at 201-796-3662 to purchase tickets.

  • Sunday, March 24 -
