Week Ahead: Chandler Construction, Landmark, Hurdy Gurdy Documentary

Take a look at what's happening this week in Fair Lawn-Saddle Brook.

  • Monday, April 8
  1. J. Fletcher Creamer & Son and Public Service will begin installing underground power lines on Chandler Drive this week. During the construction work, which will continue into the beginning of May, sections of Chandler Drive, Chadwick Place, Carlton Place and Calyne Drive will be closed for automotive traffic.   2. The Fair Lawn Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. in borough hall council chambers.

  • Tuesday, April 9
    1. Fair Lawn is providing a free health program for seniors at the Fair Lawn Public Library at 2 p.m. A pharmacist from Walgreens will hold a discussion and provide seniors with information on the proper use of medications, medication interactions and concerns about insurance coverage. 
    2. The Saddle Brook township council will hold a work session at 6:30 p.m at town hall.
    3. Fair Lawn borough council will hold a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m in borough hall council chambers. Click here for the meeting agenda.

    • Thursday, April 11 
    1. Stop by Fair Lawn Fire Co. 4 at 5:30 p.m. to learn more about the Fair Lawn Sunrise Rotary. Complimentary wine, cheese and appetizers will be served.
    2. The Saddle Brook township council will hold a regular council meeting at 7 p.m. at town hall.
    • Friday, April 12 
    1. Free blood pressure screenings will be offered at the Fair Lawn Senior Center from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    • Saturday, April 13 
    1. Saddle Brook is holding a mobile paper shredding event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 110 Market St, located across the street from town hall.
    2. The Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club presents a screening of the documentary, "For the Love of the Music: The Club 47 Folk Revival,” at 8 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center. The documentary explores the history of Club 47, an iconic Cambridge, Massachusetts folk music mecca from 1958 to 1968. Tickets are free for Hurdy Gurdy Club members and $10 for non-members.
