Woman Dies After Being Struck By Train In Bergen County: NJ Transit
Service has resumed on the Pascack Valley line after a woman was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train Thursday, the agency said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Service on the Pascack Valley line has resumed after a NJ Transit train struck a female pedestrian in Hackensack on Thursday morning, the agency said.
A NJ Transit spokesperson said that just before 10 a.m., Pascack Valley Line Train 1651, which departed Hoboken at 9:34 a.m., struck a woman who was trespassing at Sussex Street and Railroad Avenue near Essex Street Station in Hackensack.
The train was scheduled to arrive in New Bridge Landing station in River Edge minutes later, at 10:01 a.m., the agency said.

The five customers and crew on board were not injured, the agency said.
Service was temporarily suspended in both directions between Wood-Ridge and New Bridge Landing.

Substitute bus service was provided, but service has since resumed, said a spokesman on Thursday afternoon.
New Jersey Transit Police are investigating.
