The Fair Lawn U12 travel softball team finished as runners-up in the annual Safe @ Home Tournament in Tenafly last weekend, losing in the championship game against the top-seeded Northern Valley Vipers. The Fair Lawn offense plated eight runs against the Vipers, who had allowed only two runs all tournament up to that point, but fell 9-8 in extra innings. The team won its first five games of the tournament — three on Saturday and two on Sunday — before falling to Northern Valley.
