Flemington-Raritan School Board Looks To Fill Open Seat, Deadline To Apply Approaches

RARITAN, NJ — The deadline to apply to fill an open seat on the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District is approaching.

Citizens of Raritan Township have until Tuesday, June 21 at 3:30 p.m. to submit a resume and cover letter. The chosen candidate would fill the seat to serve through Dec. 31.

To become a member of the Board, an applicant must:

• Be able to read and write;
• Hold U.S. citizenship and one year's residency in Raritan Township;
• Have no interest in any contract with or claim against the Board;
• Not hold office as mayor or member of any municipal governing body within the Flemington- Raritan Regional School District;
• Be registered to vote in Raritan Township and not be disqualified as a voter under N.J.S.A. 19:4-1; and
• Satisfy a criminal history background check pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1.

The Board anticipates interviewing candidate(s) on June 27 at the Board’s regularly scheduled meeting.
