According to the superintendent, Peake is "passionate about creating unique learning opportunities for all students and has been an advocate for non-English speaking children and families district-wide."

She has led teacher workshops, conducted bilingual parent information sessions and served as a liaison for local organizations that work to address the diverse needs of Flemington-Raritan children, families and community members, according to the district.

The board meeting will take place in person at J.P. Case Middle School's auditorium. A professional development meeting will begin at 5 p.m., with the regular board meeting at 7 p.m.

In her statement, McGann also said the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District team is continuing to work through the summer to prepare for an in-person school year, focusing on ventilation, screening for symptoms and cleaning protocols.

At the same time, the district is keeping a close eye on infection rates in the community.

"Experts agree, children should be in-person, face-to-face, for school," McGann wrote.
