Hunterdon County Rug Artisans Guild Recognized Nationally

Hunterdon County Rug Artisans Guild recognized nationally.

Every year Rug Hooking Magazine conducts an international juried exhibit of hooked rugs that is published in A Celebration of Hand-Hooked Rugs, commonly known as “Celebrations.” For those wishing to see how their rugs compare to others, being selected for Celebrations is considered the pinnacle of recognition in the rug hooking community.

The Hunterdon County Rug Artisans Guild (HCRAG) has a proud history of twenty-seven of its members’ hooked rugs being recognized in Celebrations. As a Guild, this designation is an indication of the artistry found within our talented membership.

The Guild is proud to announce that two of its members have been accepted for inclusion in the 2024 Celebration of Hand-Hooked Rugs 34: “Lost Decade, Found” in Rugs Based on Original Design by Amy Korengut of Golden, Colorado. (From the Judges: “Great color plan, wonderful original design, meticulous hooking.”), and “Contemplative Dreams” in Rugs Based on Adaptations by Jane Anderson of Clinton, New Jersey. (From the Judges: “The hooking is beautifully expressive. The feather embellishments bring the piece to life.”) Jane Anderson is included in the Celebration Hall of Fame, which honors rug hookers who have been featured in at least five editions of the book.
