Domonique Preston faces a first-degree murder charge after 66-year-old Steven Spivey was found dead inside her home, prosecutors said.

RARITAN, NJ — Authorities have charged a woman with murder after prosecutors said they found a man stabbed to death inside her Raritan Township home this week.

Domonique Preston, 45, faces first-degree murder and weapons charges after she was arrested following the man's death, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release.

According to prosecutors, police received a 911 call around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday about a stabbing at a home in the 100 block of Manchester Road. When police arrived, prosecutors said they found 66-year-old Steven Spivey dead from an apparent stab wound.

Prosecutors said officers found Preston inside the home and arrested her.

Preston was taken to Warren County Correctional Center pending her first court appearance. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion to detain Preston before her trial.

If convicted of first-degree murder, Preston could face life in prison.
